Handed In

My project was handed in on Friday so all i have to do know is give the money to the charity and wait for my mark :)

I will turn this blog into a personal blog but i will have to wait until my project has been assessed.

Saturday 20 September 2008

End

Sorry for the delay. I have attached some pictures of my final project to be handed in. It is made with white card, chipboard, the bind it all machine (thanks Marcelle!), Basic Grey paper and a few embellishments.

The auction has finished and everything was sold and has been sent. In total from both sales i made £83.48. Not quite as much as i hoped but better than nothing.

Project and Uni

Still have computer / eBay problems grrr so another boring post with no pictures but i will post one soon of my red pen project mini book which is almost complete :)

The auctions are coming along nicely but we need more bids. Dont wait until the last minute as i can't cope lol.

I went back to uni the other day to give my best mate Charlene a tour (see her pic on the the fair photos.) I left my purse behind so parked in a near by park where i often park and got car window smashed which was brilliant as i was going straight to work. While there i also saw a couple of old school friends who did their degrees straight away and are now doing PGCEs in the same building as me.

Am going out tonight as it is Charlene's leaving party. I saw Kirsty from my course up the city today while i was working and we had a red pen project chat. My brother also left for uni today (woo) so i get the car to myself! I bought some pink rock and roller coaster dice when i was 16 for when i could drive age 17 (never actually took lessons and passed until i was 20 though...) and a honk if you scrapbook sign (a bit said i know) and i can finally put them up. Ooooo and i can get an air freshener that is not 'new car smell' :)The possibilities.....

Arrgghhhh

Am still trying to get my eBay account back. Should be simple according to eBay, i have done what they said a million times but nope. They don seem to like telephones so it is all done via email and each email takes 24 - 48 for a reply which is brilliant.

So the auctions are still going ahead today, i have lots of bits to auction off. They will be added in the next hour or so. They will be under the account name of blossnoss which my mums dormant account. I will post the links here when they are up as well.

See you on eBay

UPDATE

All auctions are found here
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/Blossnoss

took a lot longer than i anticipated due to having to look aftr a poorly dog and clear up after him, field calls from people thinking grandads op was this morning and sort out the ebay account as it is a dormant never been used before account it needed verifying ect. Phew! All done now

Saturday 6 September 2008

Ebay

My eBay account has been hacked which is just brilliant. I am trying to get it sorted for the 8th, if not i will use another account which i will post on the day.

Granddad is having heart surgery on Monday so fingers crossed everyone.

Sale

The sale at the Police Gala day went ok, not as good as i hoped but not too bad either. I have lots of bits to auction off now. Unfortunately still only one scapping celebreity item which is disapointing as i had several promises and several maybes.

I have not counted my money yet due to circumstances. My house is always crazy (ask anybody!!) and since we got back from holiday it has been really crazy. This last week has been really really crazy lol. I live in a mad house. The biggest thing si my grandad who lives with me is in hospital with suspeced heart attack(s)so we will see how things go. Hence the delay in this post and not counting the money yet. Depending on how things go this may be my last post before the auction so dont forget. 8th September, on Ebay, under the username darm_314 or shop crafting chicks.

Saturday 30 August 2008

This will be the last visit before i vist the mouse on Sunday (woo hoo) and i wont be back fo 2 weeks. I have to work tomorrow and i need to pack on Sunday. Notebooks

Here is a lovely mini notebook made by Michelle. The notebooks are £1 for 10 from poundland. The book was covered in paper and decorated. The cropodile was used to make the holes at the top to attach them together. I think these are a wonderful idea and have just made a trip to poindland myself to get some.

More Fab Items

At my local crop yesterday i recieved 2 different types of items for my project from the lovely ladies there :) Thankyou ever so much. Have they inspired you too?

Repost

I am just reposting my original post which explains about my blog for all those who are new to it :)

Welcome to my blog!!!!

The reason for this blog is I have been given a summer project to complete from my Educational Studies degree at the University of East Anglia.

The Brief

Has anyone seen or heard about the little red paperclip?? (For those of you who have not the youtube video is to the right) That is the basis for the project. We were all given a red biro pen and we had to do something with the pen which was entrepreneurial and that would benefit Society. We have until September to complete this project.

My Project

I have come up with many ideas for my project but this is what I have decided. I have decorated my red pen by knitting a cover for it, and hand sewing on some beads. I will collect items which have been handmade and been inspired by my red pen. These items will then be sold at the Norwich Police Gala day at the Show Ground at the end of August. Alongside this I will be asking well known crafters to make something which I will then auction off on eBay. (Date to be confirmed.) I hope this project will make a good sum of money but if it doesn’t, it has spurred on members of the community to be creative and think outside the box. The benefit to society will be there no matter what. All money raised will go towards a charity which I will post up at a later date once the charity is confirmed.

Your Help

If you would like to help me in this project I ask that you make anything inspired my little red pen and send it to me to sell. You can get your friends, children, local club involved and have a great time experimenting. If you wish to help please leave a message on the blog with your email, or email me at darm_314@yahoo.com and I will send you the address. Please note that this email will be used solely for this project and is not my personal or university email.

Ideas

You could make pens, pencils, beads, jewellery, knitted items, pencil cases, pencil pots, anything as long as it is inspired by my little red pen. You can use a mix of materials including clay, fimo, paper, ribbon, plastic, wool, cotton, photographs and much more. I will be adding inspirational links to the right hand side of this blog as the project progresses.

Extras

I will be posting pictures of some of the items I receive to inspire you but I will not be able to post them all. All items which will be up for auction will be shown here. I cannot respond individually to everyone who sends me items. Please be careful when making your items as accidents can happen, all you need to do is look at my melted and smashed original red pen to see that!

Deadline

I must have received all items by the 20th of August

Tuesday 15 July 2008

Candles

There is an excellent tutorial here http://michellescraftypaper.typepad.com/ on how to decorate candles if you wish to take a look. It is so ever so simple but soo effective!

Sunday 22 June 2008

I have been busy making the pencil case seen in the attached pictures. I used the pattern from here . It is very quick and simple to make and decorate. To make my case i photocopied the pattern, enlarging it so pencils would fit in, then followed the attached instruction. I added a few decorations to the pocket using beads and hand sewing, plus a row of ribbon along the top. My mum has also made a football one in Norwich City colours, with footballs attached. Why dont you see what you can come up with?

Friday 20 June 2008

Made items

In the first picture there are some lovley knitted biros, using funky wool. Lovingly handmade by my human knitting machine Marcelle. She came round for tea and i got her knitting pens for me, and sent her home with a handfull more to knit :)

The second picture is what Shelia will be sending me. She has handmade the envelopes and put items of stationary inside, including a pen and a notebook. It is such a wonderful idea! Thankyou

Inspiration

I know a lot of people are struggling for things to make, so i have come up with a short list of ideas. You can make anything, as long as you can say it was inspired by my red pen. I have some excellent links in the sidebar to the right of my blog, including some sites which have some super cool ideas on how to decorate pens.

you could make:
mirrors/photo frames
pentubs,
pencil cases,
crayon sets,
pegs,
brooches,
jewelry,
pens / pencils,
purse,
mini books,
hair slides

all sorts of things!

I am working on a pencil case following the instructions given on one of my listed sites. I cannot sew so it will be interesting to see how it works out.
